2024 is a critical year of development for LEED v5 and CAGBC is excited to continue to bring you the latest news.
A draft of LEED v5 BD+C will be released in early April, after which a public comment period of at least 6 weeks will begin. The public comment period will also invite feedback on the LEED O+M draft, a version of which was previously released.
To help explain the proposed updates and gather feedback from the Canadian market, CAGBC will host a free member webinar (date to be determined) with USGBC staff in attendance to offer insights.
CAGBC’s committees are primed and ready to discuss these drafts and develop feedback on behalf of Canadian clients. There is still time to join a CAGBC LEED v5 Accelerator.
To help inform our review, we encourage you to send us your feedback by emailing LEED Coach Canada. We also encourage you to contribute your thoughts through USGBC’s public comment process.
The discussion will continue at Building Lasting Change in Toronto Jun 5-6. Join USGBC and CAGBC staff as well as committee representatives for an engaging update on LEED v5 development. Learn how the goals of climate action, quality of life, and ecological conservation and restoration are reflected in the draft rating systems, and what feedback CAGBC’s committees are preparing based on the needs of the Canadian market. Join in a lively conversation engaging participants to discuss their thoughts on the future direction of LEED.
The target for the release of LEED v5 BD+C and O+M is early 2025.
