The 2023 Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Canada Green Building Council will be held on Thursday, June 22, 2023 from 3:00 – 7:00 pm (Eastern time) at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel in Toronto, ON. Members in good standing can attend in person, or online.

Voting members (Corporate Members) are critical to the growth and vitality of the Council. Only the main contact of each Corporate Member organization is eligible to vote, but all members are welcome. We ask voting members to register their intention to attend.

The meeting will be held for the purpose of:

  • Receiving the President and CEO’s report;
  • Approving the 2022 AGM minutes;
  • Introducing the newly elected Board Chair and ratifying recently elected Directors;
  • Receiving the 2022 audited financial statements; and
  • Appointing auditors for the 2023 fiscal year

A reception will follow the AGM, with special keynote speaker Megan Leslie, World Wildlife Fund Canada President and CEO. Since taking on this role, Megan has led WWF-Canada’s bold 10-year plan Regenerate Canada, to expand habitats, reduce carbon in the atmosphere, lower industrial impacts and, as a result, reverse wildlife loss and fight climate change. She is also passionate about engaging Canadians to take action for nature.

Before assuming the role of President & CEO, Megan was WWF-Canada’s Vice-President, Oceans. Prior to that, she was a Member of Parliament representing Halifax for two terms during which she was deputy leader of the Official Opposition, environment critic and vice-chair of the government committee on environment and sustainable development. As a Parliamentarian Megan introduced a motion to ban plastic microbeads which led to a ban on the Canadian manufacture, sale and importation of these products. She also expedited the creation of Sable Island National Park Reserve.

During her address, she will share how the building sector can help WWF in its ambitious Regenerate Canada initiative.

We hope you will join us.
