Conference opportunities
Speaking at BLC is an opportunity to showcase your expertise and leadership to Canada’s largest network of green building professionals. At BLC, Canada’s building sector comes together to explore the green building approaches that reduce carbon, increase sustainability, and advance affordability and resiliency for new and existing buildings.
BLC is known for delivering expert-led sessions that offer actionable solutions for a wide-range of sustainability goals. This year the conference will offer two streams designed to meet the needs of Canada’s building sector:
- The Business Stream will amplify the growing relevance of green building to business success, examining the strategies needed to preserve asset value and align with climate and ESG commitments and reporting. We’ll also explore how green buildings can help unlock financing and mitigate future risks, including low-carbon transition, regulatory and divestment risks. By embracing green and zero carbon buildings, the sector can contribute to a sustainable future that benefits the environment, economy and stakeholders.
- The Technical Stream will explore proven real-world solutions that help projects achieve their sustainability goals. From design and materials selection, to construction, operations and renewal, we’ll break down the barriers and highlight success stories. We’ll demonstrate how thinking about low-carbon solutions at every stage of a building’s life cycle can make it easier and more affordable to accelerate decarbonization, while also delivering on the many benefits of green building – from energy and resource efficiency to environmental benefits and human well-being.
The streams will each consist of up to five, one-hour long sessions to be presented as part of the full in-person program on June 6, 2024. Sessions should be a combination of presentations, discussions and opportunities for audience participation. CAGBC welcomes presentations in either French or English and will provide live translation services.
