Changes to the Board reflect the results of the 2023 election

The Canada Green Building Council formalized its new Board of Directors at its Annual General Meeting, held at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel on June 22, 2023.

CAGBC’s volunteer Board of Directors is comprised of leaders representing a cross-section of the building sector. Their collective knowledge and experience aids CAGBC in advancing the adoption of zero carbon buildings and sustainable practices. This year, four seats were open for election to a three-year term, and the results are in:

  • Stéphan Déry, President and CEO of the Canada Lands Company, returns to the Government & Policy seat for a second term and will share Vice-Chair duties.
  • Jason Manikel, Principal of Brightly Software Canada was elected to the Professional Firm (Design) seat. This is Jason’s first term as a Member of the Board.  
  • Lillian Tummonds, Vice President, Office Operations with Cadillac Fairview assumes the Real Estate Owners and Developers seat. This is Lillian’s first term as a Member of the Board.
  • Tony Cupido, Sustainability Research Chair at Mohawk College returns to his seat representing Academia and Research.

Returning Board Member Jody Becker, Chief Strategy Officer and Executive Vice President of Infrastructure Services and Technology at EllisDon, assumes the mantle of Chair, taking over from departing Chair Stephen Smith.
